“Social Emotional Learning” in Utah Schools

One of the most troubling concerns regarding globalist meddling in the state of Utah is their role in shaping the values of our children, not just in the universities, but at the K-12 level.

Social Emotional Learning is an innocent-sounding title for a much darker framework that seeks to shape children’s “beliefs, attitudes, values, and feelings” so that they can be a good global citizen. The primary drivers of SEL are the usual suspects.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) emphasizes the need for SEL in education to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), an organization with partners with a number of global elites including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as well as Mark Zuckerberg’s foundation, has been instrumental in pushing the SEL agenda in the United States. Their website emphasizes the need for “systemic” implementation of SEL so that it “pervade[s] every aspect of a district’s work.”

The World Economic Forum is also involved, publishing a report detailing its importance and pushing for more technology to get SEL into our children’s heads. Technology, of course, being crucial for tracking our children’s progress in aligning with globalist values and beliefs.  This is neither a subject or a methodology for teaching young children.  Schools should be educating our children not giving them therapy.  What happened to the 3 R’s?

In Utah, the State Board of Education is actively encouraging and developing SEL implementation, with many school districts adopting CASEL-approved curricula. One popular SEL program in Utah, Leader in Me, is provided by leader.org, an organization whose global leadership council includes a deputy director of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Sadly, SEL is the tip of the iceberg and just one example of how global elites are working to push their agenda on our children.

Globalist indoctrination should never pervade any aspect of our children’s education. It should be the responsibility of parents to instill their family beliefs, attitudes, and values in their children.

As your governor, I will stand up for Utah values, and your right to shape your children as you see fit.

Thanks so much for supporting me!
