During the last week of August, Team Lyman conducted internal polling and we are pleased to report that Phil Lyman is polling at 28.1% compared to Spencer Cox’s 40.4% while Democrat Brian King pulled 16.9%. (“Write in: Phil Lyman” was given as an option for the purposes of this poll.)
This poll is important because it shows that when Utah voters know writing in Phil is an option, he is well positioned as a legitimate challenger to Spencer Cox with two months left until the general election.
Brian King polling at 17% is also significant because it is the second poll within a month showing him at 20% or less. This should allay the fears of Republicans that writing in Lyman could elect a Democrat. King would need to over-perform these two polls by approximately 15 points to come within striking distance.
Our polling also showed that our platform of making the economy work for Utah families, making housing affordable again, curbing illegal immigration, and ending government corruption is resonating with voters.
We are in this campaign to win! We are motivated and working hard to close the gap. Every point we gain is a point Cox drops. We need help from our grassroots to spread the message around the state so that voters know there is a true conservative option in November. Please share this important information with your family, friends, and neighbors.
