We respect Richard and Carol Lyman’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 governor’s race. The motives behind their initial filing continue to be unclear and we look forward to getting to the bottom of that story. Nevertheless, we believe this is a positive development that will help simplify the counting of write-in votes on November 5th.

We expect Lieutenant Governor Henderson to put forth guidance to the county clerks in the coming days to ensure that any votes for “Lyman” are correctly counted towards our total. We still encourage voters to write “Phil Lyman” on the write-in line as recommended on the ballot itself.
